THE Israel CULINARY EXPERIENCE



ITINERARY: October 30-november 8, 2014


Day 1 - Arrive in Tel Aviv

Welcome to Tel Aviv, Israel!  You will be warmly greeted by Sovereign’s Guardian Angels upon arrival in the afternoon, where private luxury vehicles will escort you to your hotel.

Our special group will enjoy dinner togetherl for a Quintessential Israeli Middle eastern Meal, followed by some nightlife enjoyment in Tel Aviv in key venues.

Day 2 - Tel Aviv

After enjoying breakfast together, our group will visit one of Israel’s most famous landmarks:  The Carmel Market for the country’s special spices, fruits, vegetables and butcher shops.    Then a visit to Levinsky Market for their many colorful spices and delicatessen products, such as pickles, herring, and other delights from regions such as Turkey, Greece, and Romania.

Before heading out to enjoy more Tel Aviv nightlife, our group will enjoy a late lunch / early dinner featured by one of Israel's best chef recognized for cuisine heavily touched with the flavors of Israel.

Day 3 - Tel Aviv

Today we travel north along Israel’s Mediterranean coast to visit Caesarea and Haifa.  Caesarea is home to lavish architectural remains from the Crusaders period and to one of the largest amphitheaters built during the Roman era.  Then to Haifa, the third largest city in Israel which is a seaport located on Israel's Mediterranean shoreline, below scenic Mount Carmel.  We enjoy lunch at Druze Village, home to many of the unique and interesting Druze people.

Dinner will feature a world-class ‘elegant’ kosher cuisine that is deemed highly popular for culinary adventure tours.

Day 4 - Tel Aviv

A morning hummus experience awaits us, which is known to have the best hummus in Jafa.

Modern and sophisticated Israel dishes with a twist are on order for dinner at the romantic restaurant in Tel Aviv, serving dishes that are both very tasty and attractive.

Day 5 - Tel Aviv - The Negev Dessert (Southern Israel)

Today we ‘wander’ into the Negev Desert, which extends over Israel’s southern region, and accounts for over half of Israel’s land area.  The Negev has become one of Israel’s popular tourism sites, as Abraham built his home in Be'er Sheva, and the Nabateans passed through here on caravans of camels laden with precious trade goods establishing a trade route known as the “Spice Road.”

We will visit the Masada fortress, which stands beside the Dead Sea known the ‘Salt Sea’ bordering Jordan to the east and Israel and the West Bank to the west.  Masada is one of Israel’s most important archaeological sites, which has one of the greatest tales of Jewish heroism.

Day 6 - The Negev Dessert - Northern Israel

Here in Northern Israel, we visit historical sights at and near the Sea of Galilee located in the Jordan, and learn of the fascinating history that passed through this pear-shaped sea.   The pleasant climate, level topography, fertile soil, and relatively abundant water, and the rivers flowing into the lake and the adjacent plains have throughout history been the source of livelihood for various peoples and has facilitated the cultivation of bananas, dates, citrus fruit, and vegetables.

Our group will explore Nazareth religious sights and spice shops, and Arab sweet shops, and then enjoy dinner reflecting the epitome of Middle Eastern cuisine.

Day 7 - Northern Israel

As we continue into Northern Israel, we will visit a winery in Galilee or Golan region to enjoy both its Judeo-Christian history as well as its popular scenery, recreational, and gastronomic offerings.

Day 8 - Northern Israel - Jerusalem

Today we visit Jerusalem, one of the oldest cities in the world considered holy to the three major Abrahamic religions—Judaism, Christianity and Islam. There is a wealth of history that we will take in, and according to the Biblical tradition, King David established the city as the capital of the united Kingdom of Israel and his son, King Solomon, commissioned the building of the First Temple.

Day 9 - Jerusalem

We continue the fascinating journey of Jerusalem, and will visit the color and bustle of the Mahane Yehuda Market, known as 'Machne' to the locals. Popular with locals and tourists alike, the market's hundreds of vendors sell fresh fruits and vegetables; baked goods; fish, meat and cheeses; nuts, seeds, and spices; wines and liquors; clothing and shoes; housewares and textiles. In and around the market are falafel, shawarma, kibbeh, kebab, shashlik and Jerusalem mixed grill stands, juice bars, cafes, and restaurants, which we will enjoy a late lunch together.

Day 10 - Jerusalem (Departure)

Upon breakfast, we enjoy some leisure time as Sovereign's Guardian Angels prepare you with private transportation to the international airport for your journey home.
